Cetriolo tortarello chiaro is grown as long ridged cucumber, even though botanically it is closer to Melon family. The fruits do taste more like that of a cucumber, though more tender, with a softer skin, not bitter at all.  spineless skin, not at all bitter and easier to digest.  For the best flavour harvest around 20 cm in length although they will grow much longer if left to maturity.
